Feast or Famine

My husband and I have two speed...stop or go fast!  Nothing in between. Why is that?

It is as though we were binge eaters stuffing our faces with so much food we might explode deciding that we need to go on a starvation diet. The wierd thing is I don't really think we do it on purpose.  We are like a couple of paper boats being blown along on a lake.

This past week we have golfed 4 times, eaten out 4 times, gone to a concert, had our granddaughters over for an over night visit, joined a couple of cocktail hours and hosted a couple for dinner. The week before we ate at home, I wrote blogs and I can remember us saying It sure seems like Sunday several times.

Is it that way with you?  Do you manage to spread your entertainment out evenly over time or do you manage to pile your plate so high you cannot choke one more bite down?  I for one cannot seem to figure out how to do that.  Life happens to me and not the other way around.

  1. Sometimes that happens. During the busy weeks I'm upbeat but tired from all the activity. Then, during the empty-calendar weeks, I wonder why our life is so uneventful.

  2. Yep, same here. We seem to be all-or-nothing types. Why, I couldn't tell you.

  3. I rarely have a week as busy as you described. At least I haven't in quite awhile. I've had whole years that felt like that! So glad that's in the past. I like a more leisurely pace these days. My daughter always asks me if I am bored. I am never bored, I always respond. And it's true. But as long as you are enjoying your life, then the feast or famine pace suits you!

  4. I'm glad this happens to other people. I thought I was having "balance" issues. Thanks, Barbara.

  5. Thank you ladies...you have made me feel better.

We are at that time of our "snow-bird" season where we feel the need to make up for any lost time. You have to understand that people that we care a great deal about will go back to homes far away. We will not see each other for 6-8 months and when we are this age, that can mean a lot of changes. We don't want to waste any of the time we have together...just in case!
