If an aging spider were to spin its web
Across my mind
let it be a blanket of
warm remembrance.
If an aging spider were to make a home
In my shoe
Let it be a spider that
Loves adventure.
If an aging spider were to come
To live by my side
Let it be a book spider
Spinning words in the air.
If an aging spider were to
Whisper in my ear
Let the words be
A plan for life to come.
Beautiful loops of
Fanciful dreams
Spun by a aging spider
Just for us.

ReplyDeleteI love it, too. Well done. Come on, Spider!
ReplyDeleteNow that would be one fine spider! Nice piece!
ReplyDeleteI love your spider! You have made him seem soooooo desirable, friendly and cozy.
ReplyDeletePlease come back to OSI, next week we are working with the prompt, 'junction.' That one may be a challenge but I have some ideas.
Well, one at least.
..
Some very insightful words to live by, all made real and woven together by your poem. I want the spider that loves adventure.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your comment...I have always seen aging as a spider web that begins to lay over our lives. In the end we can view it as our friend or as our enemy. What do you think?
